Pocket Park RFP deadline extended

The Town of Williamston is soliciting proposals from planning and design consultants to help guide the development of a feasibility study for a pocket park in the Town of Williamston. The deadline for interested parties to submit a proposal has been extended to Feb. 8, 2017. Respondents should have broad experience in citizen involvement, visioning, commercial growth and redevelopment, landscape architecture and/or market analysis. This project is cosponsored by the Municipal Association of South Carolina, the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor, and Envision Williamston.

Adopt a Rest Stop

Envision Williamston (EW) is unveiling a project to help beautify the Downtown Historic Corridor of the Town of Williamston. The first of 12 sites planned as part of the “Adopt a Rest Stop” program was created with private funds provided by Ace Hardware and the generous donation of time and talent from Ragsdale’s Decks. The new pergola and bench seating is located on East Main Street at Town Square Center parking lot (next to McDonalds).

Scarecrow contest winners announced

Winners of the 2016 Scarecrow Decorating Contest sponsored by Envsion Williamston were announced during the Williamston Town Council meeting Dec. 8. “We are so glad to have had such an amazing number of entries and votes,” said Envision Williamston Executive Director Sonya Crandall. See story
