Envision Williamston and The Town of Williamston currently have four economic development and place making programs in place:

Adopt A Rest Stop Program

The purpose of the Adopt a Rest Stop Project is to help beautify the Downtown Historic Corridor of the Town of Williamston. The project will complement the Town’s proposed electronic message board and street banners, creating a vibrant and fresh look to the downtown area. It will encourage greater visitor/pedestrian foot traffic, serve as a catalyst to generate spillover effects from community events held in Mineral Spring Park, and help create an inviting environment for new business development.  Any business group located in the downtown may sponsor a “Rest Stop” along Main Street at one of the pre-identified spaces. Find out more about how your business or organization can be a part of this exciting program:

Facade Improvement Grant
To provide financial incentive that will support the revitalization of the Town of Williamston’s historic downtown corridor. The project will stimulate private investment in high-quality improvements that enhance the appearance of exterior buildings and properties to eliminate blight and nonconforming design standards. Main Street Challenge
The Main Street Challenge is designed to foster economic development by encouraging new merchants to locate downtown and/or the expansion of existing merchants into a new area of business for a diversified mix of service offerings in downtown Williamston. This project further helps create opportunities for long-term leases; fosters job creation, and new business growth throughout the town.

Gateway and Beautification of Historic Corridor
The Gateway and Beautification of Historic Corridor project is designed to foster economic development and visitor attraction. Additional information on Gateways
