Deadline to apply – June 30, 2022

Envision Williamston is pleased to announce that it is launching the 2022 Façade Improvement Grant Program.
This reopening of the Façade Grant Program is designed to stimulate a limited number of additional improvements to the exterior of commercial buildings within the Town of Williamston. The funding of this program is provided through the Palmetto Business Association in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission and Envision Williamston.
Award Amounts: Grant awards can range from $500 to $2,000. You must match 50% of the total cost or more. For example, on a $4,000 sign or awning project, you would be eligible for a grant of up to $2,000. Your share would be only $2,000. That is a savings of $2,000 to you!
Who Can Apply: Eligible applicants include owners of commercial properties and owners/managers of businesses located within the Town of Williamston. Business owners/managers who are leasing a building for which improvements are proposed must submit a letter from the owner giving consent and approval of proposed project plans.

Envision Williamston/Town of Williamston Facade Improvement Grant Phase II
The Envision Williamston Board of Directors is pleased to announce the allocation of funds for Phase II of the Façade Improvement Grant Program. A total of 22 awards were allocated to local businesses and commercial property owners. Funding was also available to support the unmet need portion for applicants under Phase I. In total, over $28,000 in matching funds is being awarded.
Support for these grants was made possible through funding by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), the Palmetto Business Association and the Town of Williamston. Bringing together a variety of funders to form several public/private partnerships, the ARC has underwritten a total of seven project components for the town.

Future activities under the ARC grant include a streetscaping initiative with minor gateways and greenways, inspirational decals for marketing available commercial properties, and implementation of the mural project. In addition, the grant supported forty-two streetside banners that were put on display at the beginning of the year, and five new rest stops were added to our inventory. Three-four additional rest stops are planned for this spring, bringing our total to 12-13 along the Historic Downtown Williamston corridor and along the Mineral Spring Trail.
If you are interested in being a part of this growing effort to beautify the Town of Williamston, please fill out the EW Ambassador form at www.envisionwilliamston.com or stop by the Envision Williamston office at Town Hall for a copy.
