Place

The Town of Williamston is home to one of the oldest public parks in America. Research has shown that Mineral Spring Park is possibly the third oldest public park in the country. The town also has two smaller parks. The downtown area is adjacent to recreational areas that include baseball and soccer fields, Mineral Spring Park, Mineral Spring Trail and a Veterans Park.

The town is also working to become a bicycle and pedestrian friendly community.

Williamston’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan envisions a connected network of on- and off-street bikeways, walkways, and trails that provide safe and family-friendly access between neighborhoods and community destinations for all ages and abilities.

The bikeways and trails will compliment, connect and enhance existing assets of the community including Mineral Spring Park, Downtown Williamston, the Anderson District 1 School Campuses, and others.

The current and proposed recreational facilities will enhance the economic vitality, cultural assets, and overall health and well-being of Williamston and its residents.

Williamston is a fun and exciting place to attend fun family oriented events. Join us for one or all! We have an exciting lineup for our 2017 Season of Festivals and Events in the Town of Williamston!

We are also adding a new Historical Walking Tour. The tour will offer four (4) loops that showcase historical sites and landmarks for residents and guests to visit.
